Creative People, Working in Community
SADC is a volunteer collective of 7–10 local artists, designers, makers, and creative thinkers who bring ideas to life through public art, events, and community projects in Sylva.
We believe art doesn’t have to live inside galleries or museums. We’re interested in what happens when creativity moves beyond the traditional art space and becomes part of everyday life. A mural on a wall, an unexpected installation, a community event, or a creative invitation can give people a reason to stop and connect, making a community feel more like an experience.
SADC is built around shared participation. Co-chairs Jacque Large and Andrea Nyberg coordinate the group, and members come together once a month to plan upcoming projects, sign up for tasks, and share the work. Everyone brings their own skills, ideas, and time to the table, and together we make projects happen.
